Two Years Later

Is anybody there?

If you’re not, I don’t blame you. I kind of dumped this blog and the whole blog thing, right after I finished writing about Ragtime‘s opening. It was an extraordinarily busy and confusing time for me, and just keeping up with the day-to-day changes in my life took every single one of my limited brain cells. And then this thing called Facebook got all up in my life and suddenly every communique took the form of a snappy status. You get immediate feedback with a snappy status, so longer rambles fell by the wayside. Days of not writing turned into weeks and then months and then boom! it’s two years later and people have stopped asking me “when are you going to blog again?”

I’m not sure what direction this blog is going to take; I’m still acting professionally so that will probably enter into it, but I’ve been doing some creative writing and one day I may actually have the cojones to post some of that. I imagine what I’ll be doing most days is dithering around, just as I have in the past.

So it’s with a certain amount of trepidation that I write this first blog after my long hiatus. If you’re still out there, thank you for bearing with me. If you’ve never read my blog before, welcome. And if you’re not there any more – well, that’s my fault. If you hear an echo down the long hallway of your memory, no need to turn around – it’s just me again.

How strange. I was just looking at a thread on FTC which had been started by you so I clicked on your profile and noticed you hadn't been online for a long while. So I wondered if your blog was still going and clicked through to find you had just posted today after 2 years of not posting. What a coincidence! Hope you're well and I'll be checking back for most posts in the future. JimW
